THE ROUNDHOUSE YOUTH EDUCATION CENTER
Replacing an after-school center destroyed in the 2021 Dixie Fire, the Roundhouse provides a space of gathering for the Maidu community of Greenville, California.
This mass timber structure is design around a central rotunda, inspired by traidional Maidu roundhouse design. At the top, a central sklight is angled to align with the summer solstice, casting a band of light across the space that shifts with the seasons.

In 2025, The Roundhouse was selected for inclusion in the US Pavillion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, highlighting the role of the Porch as a communal space in American architecture.
